EA has mutually worked in partnership with natural resource dependent communities ever since her inception in 1988 with the aim of improving their livelihoods through promotion of increased agricultural productivity and sustainable natural resource management.

Existing Initiatives We Support

Banana Production Pineapple Production
  • Crops (banana production and technology; vegetables production; maize, rice, coffee, pineapples, yams)
  • Sustainable soil fertility management: soil and water conservation practices; compost and liquid manures
  • Conservation initiatives: agro forestry; fruit, medicinal and tree nursery management practices; grafting, improved cook stoves; bee keeping
  • Livestock: poultry, dairy, goats, piggery production
  • Fish farming
  • Local innovations: appropriate irrigation practices, waste management
  • Integrated pest and disease control measures
  • Institutional structures, community-based resource persons (Community Agricultural Advisors (CAAs), Community Forestry Advisors CFAs)
