Lukwanga Community Knowledge Centre (CKC)

The Lukwanga community with support from the Arid Lands Information Network (ALIN) and Environmental Alert (EA) established the Lukwanga Community Knowledge Centre (CKC) in March 2007.

The centre being a knowledge hub for communities within Wakiso district in Uganda is equipped with appropriate ICT tools and offers tele-centre services to the local communities to enhance their capacities on local content generation, access, dissemination and skills development.

The centre supports local level documentation of community indigenous knowledge that is disseminated locally via village meetings, schools, open days, workshops and notice boards and to a wider audience via the Lukwanga blog
